“Around here? The only thing we have around these parts are rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, hawks, and the odd coyotes now and then. I don’t think any of them could bring down a grown man even if he was old.” Frank replied. “I have never even heard of coyotes attacking in packs.”

Jena tried to carefully choose her next words, “What did you write that happened to the old man Newton character?”

“He was torn apart and eaten by mutant animals.”

“Kind of like what we think happened?” Jena asked.

Frank laughed then looked at Jena, eyebrows raised, betraying his shock, “First off, we don’t even know what happened. Second, it is make-believe. Everything in my books reside and is borne inside of my head until it is put on paper.”

“You have to admit this is odd, right?” Jena asked.

“Coincidence, maybe. You’re letting your imagination run wild and drawing conclusions that aren’t based on fact, honey.”
